Michigan State University hockey player Preston Korytkowski died in a tragic car crash on August 15 at just 22 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to reports, Korytkowski was driving a Honda CR-V around 3:40 a.m. in Caroline County, Virginia, when his vehicle struck a disabled tractor-trailer that had pulled onto the shoulder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The truck driver suffered minor injuries, but Korytkowski was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Preston was the captain of Michigan State\u2019s ACHA Division II hockey team and wore number 4. His teammates and former coaches remembered him as an exceptional teammate, friend, and person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following his death, the team shared a heartbreaking tribute, writing that they were posting \u201cwith a heavy heart\u201d after losing their teammate, friend, and captain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Friends and teammates also remembered him by the nickname \u201cHands,\u201d describing him as someone who made everyone around him better simply by being there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
