She almost canceled the appointment, but after encouragement from her ex-husband, she decided to go through with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The scan revealed a lesion on her brain. A second MRI confirmed what she feared: it was a real tumor, and doctors said it needed to be removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Philipps was diagnosed with a <strong>2.6-centimeter grade 2 oligodendroglioma<\/strong>, a rare and slow-growing type of brain tumor. Doctors explained that although it is considered malignant, it generally has a more favorable prognosis than other malignant gliomas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She underwent a five-hour surgery on March 2 to remove the tumor and was able to return home just two days later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But her ordeal wasn&#8217;t over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When she later visited her dermatologist for Botox, the doctor noticed that her surgical incision didn&#8217;t look right and immediately urged her to contact her surgeons.
