Former NFL guard Jordan Devey has died at just 38 years old, leaving behind his wife and four children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Devey\u2019s wife, Linsey, announced his death, while a fundraiser created for the family says he died by suicide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beyond his football career, Devey was remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and mentor in the Eagle, Idaho, community. He coached his children\u2019s teams and volunteered with athletes at Eagle High School, where he had recently begun serving as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Devey\u2019s NFL journey began after he went undrafted out of the University of Memphis in 2013. He went on to play for several teams, including the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was part of the Patriots during their 2014 Super Bowl-winning season, appearing in six regular-season games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His wife\u2019s tribute described a family filled with years of memories and love, saying their four children carry his eyes, freckles and compassion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His parents have also raised concerns that Devey may have been suffering from CTE<\/strong>, a brain disease associated with repeated head impacts.
