Their resemblance was so strong that even casting directors sometimes struggled to tell them apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, when both brothers auditioned for the same role, casting decisions were sometimes settled with a <strong>coin toss<\/strong> because directors liked them equally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As they grew older, however, they built separate careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Shawn Ashmore<\/strong> became widely known as Iceman in the <em>X-Men<\/em> films and also appeared in shows including <em>The Rookie<\/em> and <em>The Following<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, <strong>Aaron Ashmore<\/strong> played Jimmy Olsen on <em>Smallville<\/em> and later appeared in <em>Warehouse 13<\/em>, <em>Killjoys<\/em>, and <em>Ginny &amp; Georgia<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And here&#8217;s the funny part\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even today, fans still mix them up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some viewers watching Aaron in <em>Ginny &amp; Georgia<\/em> genuinely believed they were seeing Shawn from <em>The Rookie<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With nearly identical faces\u2014and both brothers appearing in sci-fi, superhero, and television roles\u2014it\u2019s easy to understand why so many people spent years confusing them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But once you know they&#8217;re twins, you start noticing the little differences. \ud83d\udc40<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Did you know Aaron and Shawn Ashmore were two different actors?<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For years, viewers watching Smallville and the X-Men movies may have thought they were looking at the same actor.
