The records also listed a previous stroke and kidney cancer as significant conditions that contributed to his death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For millions of fans, however, Curry will always be remembered for the characters that made him impossible to forget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He became a cult icon as <strong>Dr. Frank-N-Furter<\/strong> in <em>The Rocky Horror Picture Show<\/em>, bringing an unforgettable energy to one of cinema\u2019s most famous musical characters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then, in 1990, he terrified an entirely different generation as <strong>Pennywise the Dancing Clown<\/strong> in Stephen King\u2019s <em>It<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But his career was much bigger than those two roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Curry also appeared in <em>Clue<\/em>, <em>Legend<\/em>, <em>Home Alone 2<\/em>, <em>Annie<\/em>, <em>The Three Musketeers<\/em>, <em>Muppet Treasure Island<\/em>, <em>Congo<\/em> and many other films and television projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was also an accomplished stage performer and voice actor, earning Tony Award nominations and a Daytime Emmy for his work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2012, Curry suffered a major stroke that permanently affected his mobility.
