Then you buy the same cow back for $1,100<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, you sell it again for $1,300<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So\u2026 what is your total profit?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At first glance, the numbers can make your brain work overtime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s follow the money:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First transaction:<\/strong>
Buy for $800 \u2192 Sell for $1,000
Profit: +$200<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second transaction:<\/strong>
Buy for $1,100 \u2192 Sell for $1,300
Profit: +$200<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That gives you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

$200 + $200 = $400 total profit.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trick is not to confuse the $100 difference between the second purchase and the first sale with the final profit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So the answer is $400<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
