My 80th birthday was supposed to be a celebration of the life I’d built after 41 years as a teacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Former students, old colleagues, neighbors, and family filled my house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Everything was wonderful until I returned to the living room and found my granddaughter Sophie arguing with her mother, Monica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I’m 22! You don’t get to decide where I live!” Sophie shouted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Monica insisted Sophie wait until her wedding to move in with her fianc\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
