A Texas thief stole almost $2,000 worth of emergency medication from the wheelchair of a terminally ill boy at the State Fair, according to saddening reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The New York Post claim that a good Samaritan ultimately stepped in to help cover the cost of replacing the life-saving medication, but the child\u2019s family have been understandably left shaken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Devin Cervantes, aged just three years old, has terminal cancer. His mother, Kayla Price, told how her purse \u2013 containing two doses of medication used to prevent his seizures \u2013 and $1,500 in cash was stolen when she attended the Dallas fair with her children on October 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking to Fox 4, Price said: \u201cThe potential of my son having a seizure and me not having that medication \u2026 it sucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI could lose everything because of someone\u2019s careless act. It really hurts because I would do anything for my baby.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reportedly, Price had taken Devin and her other children to the fair as Devin had been feeling particularly well. Yet while they were there, and while Price turned away to give her attention to her older son, her purse was snatched from Devin\u2019s wheelchair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The distressed mother revealed that the nasal spray inside the purse is crucial in stopping Devin\u2019s seizures. Insurance, she said, would not cover a replacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sending a message to the thief via her interview with Fox 4, she said: \u201cI hope, I really wish you had it in your heart to return everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou don\u2019t know the pain that you\u2019re causing me or my kids who you\u2019re hurting. Just give it all back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The situation then grew even more dire when Devin suffered a prolonged seizure a few days later, on October 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When Dallas man Chris Bailey, who runs the Facebook group \u201cEverybody Love Everybody\u201d caught wind of the theft, he donated $2,000 to help Price cover the cost of the stolen medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI sent her the money yesterday, and she immediately went to the pharmacy and filled it,\u201d Bailey told NBC 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
