The <em>Good Morning America<\/em> co-anchor marked Isabella and Sophia\u2019s special day with a collection of pictures, mixing nostalgic childhood memories with more recent snapshots.<br><br>Happy 22nd birthday @isabellastrahan and @sophialstrahan! Love you both more than you know. So proud to be your dad,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The post quickly drew warm reactions from fans, many of whom couldn\u2019t believe how grown-up the sisters looked.<br><br>\u201dBeautiful young ladies! Amazing how they get older but daddy looks the same!\u201d one follower joked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another admirer simply called them \u201dstunning daughters.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201dBeautiful bright young women,\u201d a third shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But for those who have followed Isabella\u2019s journey, seeing her celebrate another birthday carries a significance that goes far beyond a family photo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The terrifying diagnosis that changed everything<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Isabella was just 18 and beginning her freshman year at the University of Southern California when she started experiencing symptoms that she initially struggled to explain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In September 2023, she noticed that she couldn\u2019t walk in a straight line. Instead, she found herself moving in a zigzag pattern and began suffering from severe headaches and nausea. Then, one day, she says she started throwing up blood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She initially thought it might be vertigo. Then, one day, her symptoms took a frightening turn when she began vomiting blood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her twin sister Sophia urged her to seek medical attention.<br><br>Why the prognosis wasn\u2019t good<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An MRI revealed a devastating discovery: Isabella had medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor that develops in the cerebellum, the part of the brain responsible for movement and coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Doctors found a tumor measuring around four centimeters and moved quickly to operate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Michelle Israel, an internal medicine specialist who treated Isabella, explained just how critical her condition had become.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201dShe was actually in danger of having a seizure, having a stroke, and potentially dying,\u201d Israel told ABC.<br><br>Michael later described the fear he experienced as a father.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201dAs a parent, you\u2019re scared. Oh my, you\u2019re just scared,\u201d he said in ABC\u2019s special about Isabella\u2019s cancer journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">She had to learn how to walk again<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On October 27, 2023, just one day before her 19th birthday, Isabella underwent emergency brain surgery to remove the tumor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the operation was only the beginning.She went through additional brain surgeries, radiation and four rounds of chemotherapy.
