Emergency evacuation ordered at Trump’s 4th of July fair as 100°F heat adds to a week of total disasters

Trump’s Great American State Fair evacuated due to 100°F heat, which was just the latest disaster to hit it.

The flagship event of America’s 250th birthday celebrations ended up descending into chaos.

Officials had to order a full emergency evacuation of the Great American State Fair on the National Mall after temperatures hit 100°F and pushed the real-feel index into the danger zone.

Loudspeakers broadcast instructions telling visitors to proceed to the nearest exit. Senior White House correspondents on the ground described conditions as “miserably hot and humid,” comparing the open-air Mall to walking into a sauna.

The organizing committee behind the event, Freedom 250, confirmed the forced suspension of all daytime operations in a statement, saying the safety of guests, volunteers, performers and staff was their highest priority.

Organizers said they hoped to reopen for evening festivities, though the damage to the event’s image was already done.

The cherry on top of a week of disasters

The evacuation was simply the latest in a string of failures that have plagued the event since it opened.

Earlier in the week a massive power outage knocked out the electrical grid inside the main food hall, cutting air conditioning and causing vendors’ entire ice cream stocks to melt. Before the celebrations even began, a piece of stage decor fell from the ceiling and nearly landed on a group of dancers.

Vanilla Ice was scheduled to headline the mainstage but his set was canceled just two hours before showtime due to bad weather. And multiple news networks have drawn attention to the sparse turnout, with senior US officials reportedly addressing audiences of fewer than 30 people at trade panels during peak hours.
