Dolly Parton, the legendary singer, songwriter, actress and philanthropist, has died at the age of 80. Her family confirmed her passing on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. Parton died peacefully in Nashville, Tennessee.

The heartbreaking news was announced by her nephew, Bryan Seaver, in a video shared through Parton’s social media accounts. He said the announcement was something Dolly had asked him to make years ago, making the moment even more emotional for the family.

Dolly Parton rose from humble beginnings in the Appalachian mountains to become one of the most recognizable entertainers in the world. Her extraordinary career spanned more than six decades and produced timeless songs including “Jolene,” “9 to 5,” “Coat of Many Colors” and “I Will Always Love You.”
