Sanford & Son and 227 Star Hal Williams Dies at 91

Beloved actor Hal Williams, best known for his memorable role on 227, has died at the age of 91.

Williams became a familiar face on television during the 1970s and 1980s, appearing in Sanford and Son, The Waltons, Good Times, The Jeffersons, and many other popular shows.

Before Hollywood, his life looked very different. He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a social worker, corrections officer, and postal worker.

After his marriage ended, Williams made a bold decision: he moved to Los Angeles in 1968 and gave himself just three years to succeed as an actor.

His gamble paid off.

He eventually became known as Lester Jenkins on 227, while also building a career that lasted more than five decades.

A talented performer and familiar television presence, Hal Williams leaves behind a lasting legacy. ❤️
