College Football Star Levi Wyatt Dies Unexpectedly at 23

College football player Levi Wyatt, who starred for Jackson State, has tragically died at just 23.

Wyatt played for the Tigers in 2025 and helped the team reach the SWAC East Division championship.

On August 1, Wyatt was involved in a late-night car crash in Jackson, Mississippi. Police found a Chevrolet Camaro that had struck a utility pole. Wyatt, who was driving, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Jackson State Football shared a heartbreaking tribute, remembering Wyatt as a young man whose life had touched the entire Tiger family.

Before joining Jackson State, Wyatt played at McNeese State, where he earned Second-Team All-Southland Conference honors in 2024 and was also named to the Phil Steele All-Southland Conference Team.

The tragic crash remains under investigation.

Fans, teammates, and loved ones have since shared prayers and condolences for Wyatt’s family.
