13-Year-Old Football Player Dies After Cardiac Arrest During Practice ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿˆ

What began as an ordinary football practice ended in unimaginable tragedy.

Caden Sorrell, 13, was practicing with his team in Greensboro, North Carolina, when he suddenly went into cardiac arrest after running a lap around the field.

His family rushed to the hospital and spent three heartbreaking days praying he would survive. Sadly, Caden passed away Sunday.

His sister Vanessa described him as loving, brilliant, kind, and someone who made everyone around him feel loved.

Caden was one of five siblings, had a twin brother, wore No. 42 for the Northwest Guilford Vikings, and was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Now, his family is searching for answers about what caused his sudden cardiac arrest. A fundraiser has also been started to help with funeral and medical expenses, including evaluations for his siblings for possible genetic conditions.

His heartbreaking death has also raised concerns about the availability of AEDs at youth sporting facilitiesโ€”devices that can sometimes help save a life during cardiac arrest.

The community is now mourning a young boy who, according to his family, had so much love and life ahead of him. ๐Ÿ’”

Rest in peace, Caden. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ
