Lionel Richie’s Family Reportedly Wants Him to Slow Down After Recent Health Scare

At 77, Lionel Richie shows no signs of wanting to step away from the spotlight.
After more than five decades of performing, recording and touring, the legendary singer reportedly remains passionate about music and says his career is about much more than money. Performing, connecting with fans and staying active are said to be what keep him going.
But his determination is reportedly becoming a serious concern for his family.
According to reports, Richie’s children — Nicole, Miles and Sofia — have grown increasingly worried about his health, particularly following his recent hospitalizations.
Insiders claim Nicole and Sofia have been especially protective of their father, encouraging him to slow down and take better care of himself. Miles is also reportedly concerned.
The family’s fear is simple: that Richie may be pushing himself too hard at a time when his health should come first.
Yet despite their concerns, the music icon reportedly has no plans to retire.
From his years with the Commodores to his hugely successful solo career, Richie has given fans unforgettable hits including “Hello,” “All Night Long,” “Dancing on the Ceiling” and “Say You, Say Me.” He has also won multiple Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, and helped create the legendary charity anthem “We Are the World.”
More recently, a new generation has come to know him as a judge on American Idol.
His latest health scare has once again put the spotlight on the legendary performer — and his family’s reported wish that he finally give himself permission to rest.
Is Lionel Richie pushing himself too hard, or should he keep doing what he loves?
