Angela Stribling, Pioneering BET Host and Beloved Radio Voice, Dies at 58

Angela Stribling, the pioneering BET personality and longtime radio host, has died at 58.

Her husband, Ken Washington, announced that she passed away peacefully at home on September 26 after a two-year battle with brain cancer, with her husband and sister by her side.

Stribling became known for hosting BET programs including Screen Scene and Jazz Central, helping establish the network’s jazz coverage. She later became a beloved radio voice through WHUR and SiriusXM.

Throughout her career, she interviewed major stars and public figures including Janet Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones and Bill Clinton.

She continued working and inspiring others despite her health struggles.

Her family says she leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, inspiration, and a voice that will never be forgotten.
