Terror in Dubai, Rocket Explosions in Palm Jumeirah, United Arab Emirates on Full Alert

Dubai has been put on high alert after reports of explosions in the sky and possible aerial interceptions near the Palm Jumeirah area.

According to media reports and testimonies from residents, the first incidents were recorded about 20 minutes ago, while several loud explosions were heard in the area.

According to reports by Protothema.gr, eyewitnesses heard at least four to five explosions within a period of about 15 minutes, which according to them could indicate the activation of air defense systems, reports TCH, transmits Periskopi.

A witness who was in the area stated that he saw a possible interception near the FIVE Palm Jumeirah complex. “A short while ago we saw something in the sky. It looked like it happened in Palm Jumeirah, specifically in Five Palms. In the last 15-20 minutes, at least four to five explosions have been heard,” he said.

A video published by Protothema.gr shows flames and explosions in the sky, which are suspected to be related to the intervention of air defense systems. So far, there has been no official statement from the authorities of the United Arab Emirates regarding the incident.

Palm Jumeirah is considered one of the most iconic projects of Dubai. The artificial island in the shape of a palm tree, built of sand and stone, is one of the most popular tourist and residential destinations in the world, with dozens of luxury hotels, residences and tourist attractions. This area is home to about 78 thousand inhabitants and is home to some of the most popular resorts in the city.

The situation still remains unclear, while the authorities are expected to give an official reaction to what happened in the sky of Dubai.
