Thomas Markle’s Granddaughter Says Investigation Allegations “Don’t Surprise” Her

Thomas Markle, the estranged father of Meghan Markle, is facing an investigation after his son reportedly discovered suspected child sexual abuse material among his belongings. His granddaughter, Noelle Rasmussen, says the allegations have not come as a complete surprise to her, explaining that she had previously felt something was wrong, although she could not identify the reason.
Thomas Markle, 82, is a retired Hollywood lighting director whose relationship with Meghan has been strained for years. Their family difficulties have attracted public attention since Meghan married Prince Harry in 2018. Thomas now lives in the Philippines, where the reported investigation has brought renewed scrutiny to the family.
According to reports, Thomas Markle Jr., 60, told authorities that he had found hundreds or potentially thousands of suspected child sexual abuse images stored in several boxes. He reportedly turned the material over to local officials, prompting an investigation into the allegations.
Thomas Markle Sr. has firmly denied the accusations, describing them as false and saying he feels shocked, hurt and upset by his son’s claims. He has questioned why his son would make such allegations and maintained that he has done nothing wrong.
The situation has reportedly caused significant distress for Meghan, who has been estranged from her father for several years. Now, comments from another member of the extended family have added a new dimension to the controversy.
Granddaughter Says She Had an Uneasy Feeling
Noelle Rasmussen, the daughter of Meghan’s half-sister Samantha Markle, spoke about her feelings toward her grandfather in an interview published on October 27. She said she had sometimes experienced an unexplained sense of unease around him.
Rasmussen suggested that people can occasionally sense that something is wrong without consciously understanding what has triggered the feeling. She described it as an instinctive reaction that may only become clearer when viewed in hindsight.
Discussing the current allegations, she acknowledged that her response had surprised her. Despite the seriousness of the claims, she said they did not leave her as shocked as she might have expected.
However, her comments reflect her personal impressions rather than proof of the allegations. The investigation remains a separate matter, and Thomas Markle has denied any wrongdoing.
Rasmussen Expresses Support for Meghan
Rasmussen also made clear that she had never personally experienced abuse at her grandfather’s hands. She said she was relieved that she had not been victimized, while acknowledging that she could not know what another person might be capable of doing.
She also expressed support for Meghan’s decision to keep her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, away from their grandfather. Rasmussen said she understood why a parent would be cautious about allowing children to spend time with someone facing accusations of child abuse.
Meghan and her father have been estranged for years, and their relationship has remained a subject of public discussion. The latest allegations have renewed attention on that separation and on the choices Meghan has made regarding her family.
For now, the allegations against Thomas Markle remain under investigation, and he continues to deny them. The claims made by family members and the outcome of the authorities’ inquiries will be important in determining what, if anything, can be established.
