Donald Trump has shared an emotional message he received from the families of American service members who lost their lives during the recent military confrontation with Iran.
His remarks came after he attended a solemn ceremony honoring six U.S. soldiers who were killed during the early phase of the growing conflict.
Rising tensions after the strikes
The confrontation intensified after coordinated airstrikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian targets on February 28. Reports at the time indicated that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, had been killed during those operations.

Another American soldier, Army Sgt. Benjamin N. Pennington, 26, was later reported killed during the same conflict.
In a public statement, Daniel Driscoll honored the sacrifice made by the fallen troops.
“These men and women bravely volunteered to serve and defend our country, and their sacrifice will never be forgotten.”
Families share a powerful message
After meeting with the families of the fallen soldiers, Trump told reporters that the experience was deeply moving.
He explained that many relatives shared a similar message with him during the ceremony.
“When you have conflicts like this, there is always loss. I was at Dover yesterday, meeting the parents. They were incredible people.”
Trump then revealed the request he said each family made.
“They all had one thing in common. Every single one said to me: ‘Finish the job, sir. Please finish the job.’”
Trump says U.S. holds the advantage
The president also suggested that American forces had already dealt major damage to Iran’s military capacity.
In an earlier interview with CBS News, Trump said he believed the United States was moving quickly toward concluding the conflict.
“I think the war is very complete, pretty much.”
He added that Iran had suffered significant losses to its naval power, communication systems, and air capabilities.

Despite the continued fighting, Trump emphasized that his main objective is to end the conflict as soon as possible.
“Wrapping it up is what’s on my mind.”
