Australian golfer Jessica Bang, who was preparing to begin her rookie professional season, has died at just 18 years old after suffering a sudden brain hemorrhage in Thailand.

Bang traveled to Bangkok to prepare for the KLPGA Tour’s International Qualifying Tournament. On August 1, she suddenly collapsed and was rushed to a hospital.

Doctors discovered that she had suffered a serious brain hemorrhage. She underwent emergency brain surgery and was later placed on life support in intensive care.

Her family had hoped to bring her home to Australia on a specially equipped medical aircraft so she could be surrounded by her loved ones. A GoFundMe campaign was created to help with her medical treatment and transportation costs, eventually raising nearly $38,000 AUD.

Jessica had been building a promising career in professional golf. In February 2026, she won the Ford Women’s NSW Regional Qualifying tournament at Moss Vale, reportedly during only her fifth professional start.

At just 18, she was only beginning her journey and had already given Australian golf fans reasons to be excited about her future.

Instead of preparing for the next chapter of her career, Jessica’s family is now mourning a young woman whose life and dreams were cut heartbreakingly short.
