Former Team USA Triathlete Dies in Tragic Drowning During Family Vacation

Spencer Korwin, a 38-year-old former Team USA triathlete and father of two, has died in a tragic drowning accident while on vacation with his family in Shelter Island, New York.
Korwin went for a morning swim near the Pridwin Hotel on September 2 but never returned. After an extensive search involving marine and air units, his body was found underwater near the dock where he had entered the water. Authorities believe the drowning was accidental, though the official cause of death has not yet been released.
Korwin represented Team USA at the 2012 Triathlon World Championships in New Zealand and later built a wellness business. He leaves behind his wife, Carly, and daughters Sadie, 4, and Colette, 1.
A GoFundMe for his family has raised more than $350,000, with supporters hoping to help provide for his daughters’ future.
Rest in peace, Spencer. ❤️
