Rapper Who Sued Lyft Over Weight Discrimination Has a New Solution
Detroit rapper Dank DeMoss, whose real name is Dajua Blanding, made headlines in 2025 after suing Lyft when a driver allegedly refused to give her a ride because of her size.
The driver reportedly told her she wouldn’t fit in his Mercedes-Benz sedan and suggested she order a larger vehicle instead. DeMoss later filed a lawsuit claiming the incident violated Michigan’s civil rights protections. The case was privately settled in 2025, with the financial terms undisclosed.
Now, DeMoss is making headlines again after videos showed her traveling around Detroit in a spacious luxury van with a personal chauffeur.
While some praised the move as a positive change, others online saw it as a pointed response to the original incident.
DeMoss has openly discussed her lifelong struggle with weight and has said she has lost more than 100 pounds while focusing on her health and fitness.
