His Mom Put a Hidden Recorder in His Backpack — What It Captured Changed Everything

When Milissa Davis noticed a disturbing change in her 12-year-old son Camden, she knew something wasn’t right.

Camden, who is severely autistic, had been attending Hope Academy in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a school specializing in education for children with special needs.

But suddenly, he was coming home distressed and increasingly aggressive.

Then something even more alarming happened.

Camden began wetting the bed again — something he hadn’t done since he was 3 years old.

His mother tried to find out what was happening.

But because Camden had difficulty explaining what he was experiencing, Milissa made a heartbreaking decision.

She placed a recording device inside his backpack.

What the recordings appeared to capture shocked her.

According to reports, the audio included two teachers making cruel and inappropriate comments involving Camden.

Milissa took the recordings to the school board, and the situation quickly led to action.

The school said the people involved were no longer working there, with reports indicating that two teachers were fired following the incident.

Milissa pulled her son from the school and sought legal advice. Eventually, Camden enrolled at another school, where his mother said he was treated well.

But the experience had already affected him.

She said Camden continued to struggle with severe anxiety and had started wetting the bed again.

His mother later explained why she decided to speak publicly about what happened:

“No child should have to have this happen to them.”

The school also released a statement saying the recordings contained conversations between two adults and described the comments as regrettable. The school maintained that the actions of the two individuals did not represent the mission or reputation of Hope Academy.

For Milissa, however, the most important thing was making sure her son was safe.

No parent should ever have to wonder whether their child is being treated with kindness and dignity at school.

What would you have done if you were in this mother’s position? 💔
