Former Football Star Reveals Shocking Stage 4 Cancer Diagnosis at 38

Former South Carolina Gamecocks quarterback Stephen Garcia, 38, has revealed heartbreaking news: he has been diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer.

Garcia shared the diagnosis publicly and delivered an important message to his followers: don’t ignore warning signs, and don’t be afraid to see a doctor when something doesn’t feel right.

Despite the difficult diagnosis, Garcia says his medical team is confident they can fight the disease.

He has already begun chemotherapy using the aggressive FOLFIRINOX treatment.

His wife, Maria, has also launched a fundraiser to help with the family’s medical expenses, which has reportedly raised more than $127,000.

Garcia became a familiar name in college football while playing for legendary coach Steve Spurrier from 2008 to 2011. During his South Carolina career, he threw for 7,597 yards and 47 touchdowns.

One of his most memorable moments came in 2010, when he helped South Carolina defeat then-No. 1 Alabama.

Now, at just 38, the former quarterback is facing a very different kind of battle.
