Larry the Cable Guy Undergoes Emergency Surgery After Frightening Medical Scare

Fans of comedian Larry the Cable Guy were concerned after the 63-year-old star was suddenly rushed to the hospital with severe stomach pain.

The comedian, whose real name is Daniel Lawrence Whitney, later revealed that doctors had discovered the cause:

Appendicitis.

The situation required emergency surgery to remove his appendix.

Larry was hospitalized for two days before returning home to recover. Thankfully, he later reassured fans that he was “all good” and recovering well.

True to his personality, Larry even managed to joke about the situation while thanking fans for their support.

He explained that he was still sore but that his vital signs were good—and added some of his trademark humor to the update.

The unexpected medical emergency also temporarily affected production of his upcoming CBS comedy series, American Mayhem, with filming postponed while he recovered.

Larry has been a household name for decades, rising to fame through his famous blue-collar comedy persona and the “Git-R-Done!” catchphrase.

He also became beloved by younger audiences as the voice of Mater in Pixar’s Cars franchise.

Thankfully, the latest update is positive, and the comedian is focused on getting back on his feet before returning to work.
